FLOORJAM

FLOORJAM was Darren's first band, and featured bass genius Jamie Graham, Stopsigns/Darren Roberts Band drummer Martin Newbury and long term friend and collaborator Gareth Willey on vocals. The band recorded and toured for several years, releasing 3 E.P.s, and one full length album ...That's What She Said in 2004. The band were something of a local phenomenon, spawning many young bands and igniting the local youth music scene. Management and internal problems led the band to split in 2004, but not for long, and they were back together and playing shows within a year. However, they never recaptured the momentum or excitement of their initial surge. The band played numerous "farewell" shows before finally calling it a day in August 2008 with one last performance in front of their home crowd in Helston, on the same day Tipping The Bridge was released on cd.

BLUE MURDER BLUES BAND

BLUE MURDER was a hard blues 6 piece that played shows around Cornwall in the autumn and winter of 2004. The band gained warm reviews for their high octane and at times chaotic live performances, but they only survived for 3 hectic months, reuniting once in 2005 for frontman Gareth's 18th birthday.
GOT BIRDFLU?

GOT BIRDFLU? was a 2 time only hard rock band consisting Darren, Jamie Graham on bass, Mark Trounson on vocals and drummer Calie Hough. The band was formed at short notice to fulfill a slot at 2007's Helstonbury Festival, and their unusual combination of Frank Zappa, Beatles and grunge covers coupled with bizarre performances of Jungle Boogie and Sex Machine earned them rave reviews. They played one more headline show a few months later, before all returning to their regular projects.

MARK TROUNSON AND DARREN ROBERTS

Darren's collaboration with singer Mark Trounson produced the 5 track Far Off Songs E.P. in 2006, with a further, unreleased recording session a year later. The E.P. features some of Darren's favourite work, but despite plans to tour the duo have never performed live. The song "If I / Would You" was performed live once with a full band in Darren and Mark's blues quartet A Bucket Of Blues.

LONELYKILLLONELY

LONELYKILLLONELY is Darren's experimental soundscape and sound collage project. It is a solo project, with all pieces created solely by Darren, but it is released under this banner to avoid confusion with his "proper" solo work.
The debut release "Lonelykilllonely 1.1" features 6 tracks, and runs at around 45 minutes of instrumental soundscapes, with the tracks featuring a concept and loose narrative which unfolds through layers of disortion, samples and sound manipulation. It is scheduled for release at some point in 2011, after many delays.
A BUCKET OF BLUES

A BUCKET OF BLUES is a, you guessed it, blues quartet featuring Darren and frequent collaborators Mark Trounson, Chris Mueller and a wide array of drummers depending on who's available! The band play occasional gigs around Cornwall, check the Live page for dates.
